Spoils of war: €40,000 video wall servers on our workbench

Spoils of war. Three video wall servers invoiced at between €20,000 and €40,000 apiece have just passed across our workbench.

We stripped them down completely to understand their architecture, identify the good ideas, eliminate the pointless compromises and optimise the whole design.

The result: a build based on off-the-shelf components (Nvidia, Intel), for around €2,500, capable of delivering comparable performance, simpler maintenance and exceptional reliability.

Sometimes, the best way to innovate is simply to understand in detail what already exists.
